Scott, this is a terrific parable with a great lesson on PERCEPTION. The Harvard MBA businessman's perception of success, accomplishment and fulfillment is very different from the Fisherman. Compassionate Marketing teaches us that we all have our own set of values, talents and desires, and that if we stay true to ourselves and use our talents to help others, we will accomplish miracles (for ourselves and others).

Jane refers to "blessings in our own backyard". Acres of Diamonds is a terrific little Book with a poignant message, and like Jane's statement reminds us (or teaches us) that we need not look elsewhere for the treasures of life; we should look inside ourselves! I would like to gift your readers the ebook, Acres of Diamonds. They may send a request to ScottsReaders@CompassionateMarketing.com

Scott,
It really works! I have been using this for years. I didn't know others used it too. Great tip!

If only I could get my ADHD son to use it, I think his life would be less frustrating for him. Hey, he's 18 and knows it all... right.

Thanks and keep the great advice coming.

Thanks, Jane. Yes, it is important to enjoy the wonderful blessings in our own backyard. I wonder if we would have a more peaceful world if more people would take some time for themselves, whether it be a long weekend or 5 minutes.

PSA time. I like that. What I don't get is the to do list or the priority list. I am so overwhelmed with backlog, I have an enormous priority list.

I will try this. I'll have to remember to try this, I should say.

I'll put a cup of coffee in the microwave and walk away, want coffee some time later and look high and low for that coffee cup! grrrrr
I'll be hungry and put something in the nuker cooker, walk away and forget not only that I was hungry but that food was in the microwave till I find it the next day or later that night.

I am a mess because the list of things like this would take some time to compile. I spend so much energy focusing on not forgetting one thing that I forget the other things.

I read that the combination of postmenopausal symptoms enhance the ADHD experience four fold! That's me and I can testify to it.

I am open to all advice and tips for creating organization in my life. Thanks

Scott,

This is so true - we work ourselves so hard at times instead of enjoying the wonderful blessings in our own backyard. What a great reminder about what is really important at a time when most of us took time to relax for a few days. Thankyou!
