you AND i

It's great to have you back! For those who want to respond or share your wisdom with other readers, leave a comment at the bottom of the entry.

For my last few posts I’ve been talking about getting “over there” and helping others get “over here”. Now, the question becomes, “What’s next after that?” Well, it’s time to get to work. Allow me to explain.

An ancient sage named Rabbi Tarfon once said,

“You are not required to complete the work;
neither are you free to desist from it.”

And, since we have work to do in this world to get it to where we’d like it, wouldn’t it be a lot nicer to do the work together?! You and I can complete our work in this world together.

That reminds me of a Hebrew song I love. For your listening pleasure, I would like to sing it to you now.

You can follow along with the English lyrics below.

Ani v’ata nishaneh et haolam, Arik Einstein and Miki Gabriellov

You and I will change the world,
You and I, then all will follow.
Others have said it before, but that doesn’t matter.
You and I will change the world.

You and I will start at the beginning.
It will be difficult. But that doesn’t matter. It’s not so awful.
Others have said it before, but that doesn’t matter.
You and I will change the world.

You’ve got your views and I’ve got mine. Rather than be in a “you versus me” view, how about a “you and I” view? What would that look like for you?
