Are you over there?
In the picture to the right what do you guess is this person’s age?
.
Is she a young lady or an old woman?
.
Or, both?
.
Keep looking at the picture and see if it changes on you.
.
Yes, there is both a young lady and an old woman in the picture.
.
Things aren’t always what they at first seem to be, are they?
.
Here’s another one. What animal do you see in the picture below?
.
Some of you will see a rabbit facing one direction and others will see a duck facing the other.
.
If you haven’t already, look for the animal you didn’t immediately see.
.
[An interesting side-note: children tested on Easter Sunday are more likely to see a rabbit, while those tested on a Sunday in October tend to see a duck.]
.
Yes, what you see may not be the same as what I see. And, this is true in your personal and business relationships, as well.
Often, you will have a different perspective from others of the very same event. And, that’s OK.
Or, is it?
It can be a challenge to be accepting of other people’s opinions when their opinion is different from yours. What is going on “over there” can be very different from what is going on “over here”. Many of us want to at least honor that we each have our own view, even if we may not agree with that view. That can be easier said than done.
So, how do you get “over there” when you have your own stuff going on “over here”? Stay tuned for my next post.
